It is important that you understand what information is collected about you during your visit and what we do with that information. We strive to provide a safe, secure user experience. This Privacy Statement sets forth the online data collection and usage policies and practices that apply to the Paul Mitchell Connect Web site and does not apply to information we collect in any other fashion. Your use of this Web site constitutes your acceptance of this Privacy Policy and your consent to the practices it describes. This Privacy Policy was last updated March 3, 2007.
Your data will be stored and processed in whole or in part in the United States. The information we gather may be shared with affiliated companies on a worldwide basis in order to deliver the products and services we offer to employers such as searches for job seekers or in order to undertake an analysis of our database such as aggregate profiling of our registered users. “Affiliated companies” means entities that control, are controlled by, or are under common control with John Paul Mitchell Systems.
Registered Users
Only Paul Mitchell Focus Salons and Paul Mitchell Schools will be eligible to post profiles and list job openings on the Web site. Other potential employers may register to visit the Web site and search for students, but they will not be able to post profiles or list job openings. All contacts between schools, salons, students, and other potential employers will be through the internal message system (Connect Message Center).
Registration
1. Paul Mitchell Future Professionals: The computer system will generate single-use registration codes for each student. Each school will identify a moderator, who will give the registration codes to his/her students. Students will input the registration code and access the Web site, where they will create their Web site profiles. The profiles will be submitted to the moderator who will approve the profile prior to its being posted on the Web site.
2. Focus Salons and Paul Mitchell Schools: Focus Salons will be verified through the Paul Mitchell Salon Locator database system. Paul Mitchell Schools are verified by Paul Mitchell Advanced Education. The salon or school profile will be generated automatically, including the salon or school name, city, and state. The school or salon job posting and contact information will be supplied by the salon or school.
3. Public Users: Web site users that are not students, Focus Salons, or Paul Mitchell Schools are required to provide contact information, including name, company name, address, a verifiable e-mail address, and other identifying information that will be maintained in a database. Registration may include questions about salon use of products or other information relevant to the advertising and marketing of hair and skin care products and educational opportunities.
4. Personal Information Shown on the Web Site: Students will be referred to by their user name, not their real name. Personal information (name, address, phone number, e-mail address) will NOT be visible or available through the Web site. Potential employers wishing to contact students will do so through the Connect Message Center.
The default information for Focus Salons and Paul Mitchell Schools will be their salon/school name, street address, city, state, and phone number. All information will remain invisible on the Web site unless the salon/school chooses to make their profile visible.
